Welcome to The Yawfle.
The Yawfle aims to provide you, the discriminating and judgmental reader, with all the tech news you could possibly use. But that's not enough! We also provide this coverage without the cringe-worthy SJW stylings found on brand X tech news sites.
Here at The Yawfle you can read about the latest software, superhero movies, and space launches and not be subjected to laborious discussion of the minority composition of the teams writing the software, making the movies or launching the rockers. Here you can see an article about how we might not be about to all drown from rising sea levels by next Tuesday but rather, thoughtful pieces on how computer models actually work.
In short, tech news for conservatives, libertarians, and reactionaries who have grown tired of insults and condescension.
As you might guess, The Yawfle had its genesis in dissatisfaction with the existing tech journalism. The pronounced - and ever-vocal - leftism of tech journalism really is no different from the pronounced and vocal leftism of journalism as a whole. But while I could avoid a great deal of mainstream media with little consequence, avoiding tech journalism I found to be rather more challenging. One by one, Wired, The Verge, Ars Technica and the like dropped from my RSS feeds as they surpassed my ability to tolerate them.
So this, then, is the site that I wished I had found. The Yawfle hopes to accomplish two things:
One, to provide an easy to digest overview of what’s happening in tech. The One-Shot is a brief (very brief) commentary and a link to the source. We follow all the major sources, and cherry-pick the most interesting for you. And of course, we include things that you won’t see on Wired or Ars - for example, anything casting any doubt on global warming.
Two, original articles to entertain and inform. There won’t be nearly as many of these as there are One-Shots, but we will endeavor to maintain a steady, and over time, growing quantity of quality commentary and reporting.
That’s our goal. Follow us on twitter, add us to your feed. Join our forum. Send us links to things we’ve missed. Let us know how we can serve you better.
Why "The Yawfle"?
Because we've always liked this:

(And because yawfle.com was about the last 6-letter .com address left.)
